Kee’s Laundry

When Saint Bernadine moved into their new space in Vancouver’s historic chinatown, they decided to use the front of the space as a gallery and wanted to honour the history of their new neighbourhood with the name and branding.

After much digging in the Vancouver archives I discovered that in 1911 the address used to belong to John Kee and was a Chinese laundry. The name Kee’s laundry reflects this heritage and the design was kept in the style of the advertisements found in the archive directories dating to that time.
